Light in the Theater needs Darkness

pp. 289–294 (Czech), Summary pp. 295 (English)

Th?e study concentrates on the so far rather neglected relationship between scenery changes and the auditorium, which is connected with the change of possibilities and transformations of lighting in the premises of a theatre. On the basis of several concrete examples it highlights the fact that this transformation, through a change in the
lighting conditions of the relationship between light and darkness, has played a substantial role in opening up new possibilities for theatrical imagination, both in the receptive sphere and in the creative field itself.
